The Nutcracker!...and the Superheroes!!

This last weekend my mom and I went to see my cousin Zoe in the Nutcracker down at Weber State. It was so awesome! It made me want to start dancing again, but man would it take a long time to get back in shape to do that. Ballet is harder than it looks, I promise. Anyway, so we saw the Nutcracker, and then we were driving to Tai Pan Trading ( one of out favorite craft stores on the planet). The store is in Clearfield, and so I was driving along, while my mom was on the phone, and I ended up in Centerville, yep that's right, I could see the Bountiful Temple....dur da dur! So we headed back and got stuck on the old highway. But as we were driving up to an over pass in Farmington we saw a little girl on the side of the road. She looked lost, and so as other cars could care less and just drove on by, my mom and I stopped to help her out. Well come to find out the cops were looking for her, and she was a lost child. Well she had only been lost for 2 hours, and not 2 months, thank goodness! So her family and the cops came and they were so thankful to us, and the cops questioned us to make sure everything was all good. We felt that we were supposed to get lost, so we could help that little girl. It was a good experience. I will always strive to help those in need.

Is it just me or is winter the most depressing time of year (excluding the holidays!). I spend every minute I can inside with the heater turned on full blast, and when I plan on going outside I have to pre-heat my car, and put on as many layers of clothing as possible. I think it's time to put the electric blanket under the bottom sheet of the bed. I like to pre-heat my bed as well :)!! I also can't leave for work without my mug of hot chocolate. I'm wondering why I've stuck it out in Logan, Utah all my adult life? I try convincing Dave at least once a week to move to Arizona, or at least St. George!! I think if I did winter sports I would enjoy it more. But that's just not the case.....I tell my husband he must be crazy! He wears shorts, and T's all year long. My thoughts go as this, he is twice the size as an average person, therefore his body is at least 5 degrees warmer. I don't know how he does it. That's just one difference we have that we compliment each other for; I cool him down, and he warms me up!! He calls me his little cooler, and I call him my little heater! Phew! Thanks for letting me vent. :)

A weekend in the life of the Elwoods....

This weekend Dave and I were going to head down to Frightmares at Lagoon. But a truck fixing emergency came about so we made the most of our time in Logan. For those of you who don't know, I was never asked to a dance in High School. So I was determined to go to USU Homecoming with my husband to make up for it. We went, and it was LAME!! I felt like I was back in high school!! And we were so bored that we spent most of the time sitting and observing the strange, yet entertaining people. Here are a few pics....



...then on saturday morning we went to the USU Homecoming parade, and the free candy was nice, but it was rather boring too. I guess you know when you are truly becoming a mature adult, when things like this are so very boring. Watching all the kids around us was fun though. Adding kids to our lives will make times like these a lot more fun! (that won't be for a couple years though). Later that day we drove up to Idaho to Riverdale resort, and relaxed in the hot pools! Now that was a good time. No worries, and completely serene....

...Tonight Dave and I carved a pumpkin for the first time together! And we did a good job, Dave scooped the goop, and I carved it out. We are so excited for Halloween now!! Yay!!

Four Wheeling yet again! Yay!

So Dave and I needed a day to just get away from work, and stress. So I took off a half of day of work! He had the day off for fall break at USU, so before the snow falls again, we had to take out the four wheeler!! As we were heading up the mountain, I saw these caves that are in Hyde Park Canyon, and I started freaking out about mountain lions. So instead of Dave calming me down, he told me a story of hiking up to those caves, and finding deer carcasis in them....Way to help me out love!! So I freaked out even more. But I was brave and we continued up the mountain. Overall we had a good time, and we didn't get eaten by a mountain lion.!!

Dave and I went to the Yellowcard concert here in Logan Tuesday night. It was really good, yet really loud, and I started getting a headache. Dave loved it, I was ready to leave right as they ended their last song, and he wanted to stay for an encore! But we had fun watching all the kids in the crowd being tossed above peoples heads and almost being dropped on their own heads. The poor security officers that had to take care of the 100 people who did it. (Well, it seemed like that many). Crazy Loganites. Here are a few pics of the night!!

FAMILES, TOGETHER FOREVER!!

Dave and I went out to his home this last weekend. Dave has this love of four wheeling and we haven't been since our first date which was in August of 2007. So we had fun, even though it was in a cut down cornfield! We also got together with my family and had family pictures. My mother, every year, for the past 7 years has said how we need to get family pictures taken. So we did and my good friend Erica Naegle and her sister Lindsey (who also did my bridals) took them for us up the canyon in these beautiful fall leaves!! They did an awesome job. So what a great weekend we had!!

Labor Day Weekend!!!

This weekend was a lot of fun. My brother and sister in-law came to town and the family went out to eat at a new Thai restaurant in Logan, and we went bowling for the first time together in a really long time. It was a lot of fun. And what's bowling without a few, good butt shots of everyone! ENJOY! :)

Hey everyone! So Dave and I are so excited to start this blog and keep everyone up on our lives and also see how you are doing as well. We were married on May 2nd in the Logan Temple, and are having fun being newlyweds!! Dave went back to school at USU and has decided on a major, which is Sociology. He would like to pursue a career as a counselor. We both feel that the world is in need of help, and what better way to put ourselves to use than to continue to serve those around us and for Dave to have a career helping people with the problems they face. He will do an awesome job!! I am working as receptionist and hopefully when Dave is finished with school, I can continue education as well. I'm thinking an X-Ray Tech. would be a rewarding job....but if you know me, I continually change my mind on what I would be interested in doing.
