Christmas 2009

Dave and I had such a nice Christmas this year. We were able to spend it mostly with my family, and we did lots of fun things! My mom planned a mixed dinner, a fun game, and a movie night for Christmas Eve. Then Christmas morning we went to my Grandma and pa's house for breakfast. Every year my Grandpa makes us a Christmas breakfast, and we get to watch them open their presents from each other. It's a great way to start off the day. Then instead of presents this year Dave and I decided to write each other letters for each other of appreciation. And we both feel that it was the best Christmas we've ever had! We were spoiled by family of course, and are grateful for them and all that they do for us. Here are a few pictures from our eventful weekend. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

This is Mylo (on the left) and Bo. Mylo is Mike and Traci's dog and Bo is my family dog that I grew up with. He is really old, but still looks like a pup!

This is my only sibling, my older brother Mike...he got a little too into character with the antlers and all...

Temple Night

Dave and I finally went to the temple and did an endowment session. Every month we say, "we need to go to the temple", so then we set a night but get caught up in family things, or Dave would get stuck at work late. I remember going to the temple for the first time and how overwhelming everything was, but how wonderful it was too. I look back on our wedding day and my favorite part was being sealed in the temple and walking outside and everyone cheering, and just being surrounded by family, and being so incredibly happy! The rest of the day was awesome, but such a big blur. I'm so thankful that Dave and I keep each other on our toes when it comes to choosing the right. I remember when we were first married and we just wanted to be together all the time and church was the last thing on our minds. But we now realize more and more that marriage takes three. God, your spouse, and you. We are so much happier when we go to church, read our scriptures, and say our family prayers. We miss our Webelos in our last ward, it was definitely a task every thursday, but we were thankful for the experience. We hope you all take time to remember the most important things in life this Christmas season, and try to help those who are less fortunate than we are. Merry Christmas!

IT'S A...

BOY! Yes, after 1 Dr. appointment and 2 ultra-sound appointments in three days, we finally found out what we are having. He is healthy and growing well. We are so excited! It was really cute though, because he was covering his "area" with his hands like- "Ah! don't take a picture of that!" It took a while to get a good picture to prove that he's a he! This whole time being pregnant I've had a feeling that we were having a boy. I'm so glad I was right! We can't wait to see him. I'll have to download a few pictures and post them. But on a side note, those of you who I don't see that often are probably wondering what I look like all prego. So here are a few pictures, the first is 12 weeks, then 16 weeks, then about 20 weeks. I have only gained 7 lbs. Which I am really surprised because I eat all the time! I guess only time will tell how much I will end up gaining..eek!

Oh the stress I consume! And you can read it right on my face, by the hundreds of zits that have overtaken it. It all started out the day after thanksgiving, and now continues...stress is not good for a baby in a belly, everytime something stresses me out, my body takes it all in, including the baby. I've been so irritated by a lot of people lately, just ask my other half-my husband. He get's to hear about it everyday...blah, blah, blah! I wonder what my blood pressure has been lately, probably pretty high, I hope I don't have pre-eclampsia.
But on a happier note, I'm excited for the 14th. That's when we hear the big news! I hope you are all having a happy holiday season!

Christmas is coming!!

I'm so excited for Christmas! I am already playing Christmas music in my car, and we are going to put up our tree tonight! I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Dave and I went to his family's house and had a great dinner! Then we stopped over at my Grandpa's and ma Purser's house for a while, and boy was it a Zoo! I love it though! Loud, crazy, happy people wandering about the house! That's what I love! The thing is, is that I'm just like them. I'm slowly easing my way into the Elwood family still. I don't want to completely scare them away! The next day we moved out to the Elwood House basement. We are so thankful to them for letting us live there. They have done so much to help all of us out! Thanks Tammy and Jim! And thanks Sarah and Brian for helping us out so much! We appreciate it so much. We feel so spoiled living there! We are just happy to live in a healthy environment for me and the little one growing inside of me. We took some pictures of the festivities, so next time I will have to post some of them!

WE ARE HAVING A BABY!!

We are so excited to bring this little one into our lives! We find out the gender the week before Christmas!! I am 15 weeks along, and the baby is due May 10th or 11th! We are so happy! We are also moving out to Smithfield at the end of the month. It's time for us to get out of the mold infested, 30 year old apartment we've been living in for the last year and a half. I will also be glad to have more than one bathroom. Sharing a bathroom with a boy is not the most fun, if ya know what I mean...Anyway, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Weekend at the Cabin!

This last weekend my family stayed over at my Grandma's cabin! It was really fun. We hung out at Bear Lake all day Saturday, and stayed up playing games. Then we just relaxed all day Sunday. It was nice to get away from work, and responsibility. Whenever Dave and I have gone to Bear Lake, we always sculpt an animal in the sand. So we did, and the rest of the family joined in. The water was too cold for me to swim in, but Dave surely had fun! What a good weekend!

More awesome pics by Erica...and Aaron & Holly Wedding!

Yesterday was Dave's little brother Aaron and his wife Holly's wedding. They were sealed in the Logan Temple. What a wonderful thing it is to attend temple weddings. There are so many new things to learn each time you go to the temple. We are so happy that they stayed worthy enough to receive those temple blessings, and we wish them an eternity of happiness and love!

Now here are some pictures we did with Erica. Thanks girl! I love them! And we are so thankful to you for capturing us in our sweetest and silliest of moments...

Photos

This weekend we had my friend Erica practice her photography on us! Above is one of the ones she took! Isn't it awesome?! Stay tuned, there will be more to come...

Goodbye Summertime :(

At the beginning of the summer Dave and I made a list of fun activities to do. Last summer I was so busy with working the two jobs I had, we didn't really do anything. Our list was- Lagoon, Camping, Drive-in movie, Bear Lake, Four-Wheeling, Hike wind caves, Seven Peaks, Go up Mt. Logan, Porcupine Dam. Sad to say we did less than half. So on with the few weeks of fall and then the season I hate the most...Winter. Here's a few fun pics!

Goodbye Grandpa Elwood

This post is in memory of Norman Elwood who died on August 17, 2009. I just wanted to take a minute to reminisce on all the wonderful memories that I shared with my Grandpa. I won't write them all because that would take a while, but I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the time that I got to spend with him here on the Earth. I remember the times that we would go fishing with just the boys, and grandpa was there to encourage/tease me while I was reeling in the fish. Also, the times that we went hunting and I got to ride in the back of the truck when I was little. Even all the trips up to Idaho to help with one project or another, but we were always rewarded with a bunch of jerky, a can of pop, and an occasional 4-wheeler ride. Lots of good memories! Well, I love you Grandpa and I'll miss you but I know that we'll see you again.-Dave

I just wanted to add on to this post. Grandpa Elwood was a tease and charmer, I met him for the first time after a few months of dating Dave. He had recently had a stroke and was bed ridden. You would think that someone would be down on themselves for that position they were in...but not Grandpa. He was always telling jokes and offering us jerky, and all sorts of little goodies. And he always wanted a hug when I left, (he would even slip in a little kiss on the cheek). I grew to love him even though I didn't know him that well, and he made me feel apart of the Elwood family. While at his funeral I learned alot about him, and I also learned that Dave is alot like him. I always knew Dave and Grandpa were close, I could tell how much Dave loved him. Now I know why. I will miss visiting him, but I'll be glad when I can see him again. -Angie

New Family Member!

Yesterday all the Elwood girls put together a bridal shower for Aaron's bride to be Holly Isakson! It was a lot of fun being with family and hearing interesting conversation....especially the older ladies....(wink, wink). But we are excited to have Holly join the fam. Aaron and Holly are so cute together, and they are so in LOVE! Afterwards we all went to the Martin Harris Pageant. It was really cold, but I had fun reading the history of Martin Harris. I'm so glad Dave's family is always doing things together and for each other. I am so glad I married into the Elwood family! Here are some pics....

I LUV BEAR LAKE!

Yesterday Dave and I drove over to bear lake. I was really excited to get a good tan, and swim like the little fish we are.....NOT! I actually ended up in my hoodie and towel most of the day. :( Dave braved the cold though, as always. We also made a cute sand alligator! A little boy near by came and started playing with it, so it only lasted a few minutes. We left a little earlier than planned, but we stopped at LaBeaus for a burger, what a great tradition we can continue each year! Bear Lake and LaBeaus! Oh the memories! Enjoy these pics....

Read the Ensign!!!

The past few weeks I've thought a lot about going to college. My plan in High School was to go to beauty school, then find a hairstylist job that would help pay my way through college. Well, that never all happened, and I wish I would've gone. I'm still young and I think it's a smart idea. I don't know what the future holds, Dave could lose his job and we would need me to work. Another thing lately is, facebook, X-box, and other things. Dave and I come home and check all our online things and or play games, and it's such a waste of time. It is really addicting. A few days ago we received our August Ensign! And There was a section that talks about computer addictions, and then the Relief Society message talked about continuing your education- not only in the Gospel, but in life. Heavenly Father really knows what we are in need of. He leaves little hints in our lives to help us out. I'm so thankful for all that I have. Even if it's just a little. I will hopefully go to college one day. And I'm working on the computer thing!

BIRTHDAY!!!

This last weekend was my birthday and it was very relaxing. We drove down to Pleasant Grove to stay with my brother and sister in law. We went out to eat at PF Changs, Dave had never been there, but it is one of my favorites! My brother works for Daily Bread, which is a food storage company. They sell food that will last for 25 years! They had a booth at the American Fork Steel Days, and car show. So we hung out there for a while, and it was like 105 degrees! We came back home for the weekend and on my birthday Dave woke me up with breakfast in bed, and we went to Porcupine Dam and swam for a bit. He then surprised me later with a pinata shaped like a shoe, because I have a shoe obsession...most girls do. :) I was definitely amused on my birthday, and it was full of surprises and relaxation! Thanks to all that made it great!!
